Our courses are designed in a progressive format that allows you to expand your skills at a comfortable pace. With subject matters spanning revolvers to pistols, we ensure a comfortable learning atmosphere complemented by expert guidance for your guaranteed success.
OVERVIEW
This is the ideal course for those interested in learning to shoot, know the laws, and want to conceal carry. This course provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely handle, load, fire, and unload common types of pistols as well as understand the different firearm laws. Time is spent both in the classroom and on the firing range in a comfortable learning environment.
COURSE OUTLINE
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Recognize how to secure, store, and childproof firearms.
- Recognize how to safely handle, store, maintain, and select ammunition.
- Identify the basic laws and reliable resources relating to the purchase, possession, transportation,
- storage and carry of firearms and ammunition.
- Summarize the cycle of operations of a semi-automatic pistol.
- Demonstrate the safe use and handling of firearms.
- Demonstrate how to properly load and unload handguns.
- Apply shooting fundamentals to fire a semi-automatic pistol safely and successfully.
- Demonstrate how to clean and lubricate a semi-automatic pistol.
- Demonstrate how to properly function check a semi-automatic pistol.
- Demonstrate the safe use and handling of a handgun.
- Choose a holster for your personal needs.
- Safely and efficiently draw from and recover to a holster.
- Demonstrate foundational shooting techniques.
- Safely and efficiently load, reload, and unload a handgun.
- Safely and efficiently hit a target with the dominant hand, two hands, and non-dominant hand.
- Classes starting at 8:00am will run until 4:00pm.
- Classes starting at 3:00pm will run until 11:00pm.

EQUIPMENT LIST for Firing Range Instruction
- Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
- Recommend electronic hearing protection or earmuffs and earplugs
- Tuition includes free loan of firearms, safety glasses and hearing protection at our private range in Orange County, NY and you are always welcome to bring your own hearing and eye protection

- Qualification ammunition is included in NYSNRA101. In NJSNRA101 ammunition is $25 per box.
